Over my spring break, I did some work on finding inspiration for my vignette profile development. This aspect of my final product is definitely the most challenging, since this requires more creativity, and there is not much of a structure that I will follow. Instead, my work will be pulling information from all different cases examples, while also incorporating all the required areas of evaluation. This evening, I hope to talk to Dr. Correa about some of the various personalities and cases that I looked at over break. I was able to watch the Ted Bundy docu-series on Netflix, which is something that she had recommended. I also dug back into some of the books that I have over different related forensic psychology issues. One in particular is Without Conscience by Dr. Robert D. Hare, which details Dr. Hare’s Psychopathy Checklist and the components of it. Despite the common misunderstanding of the term, there is lots of in-depth research over the concept of psychopathy, which is actually not the same as antisocial personality disorder. It is very relevant in the case of many infamous serial killers and mass shooters, however, it is not exactly useful in the context of a forensic evaluation because it does not impair logical understanding.
