AMOR CORREA

Dr. Amor Correa is a forensic psychologist at the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She completed her undergraduate studies at New York University and earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Texas by 2013. For the last five years, she has been working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She works with female inmates in their legal process to ensure that they are treated properly in the justice system. Some of her primary duties include evaluating an individual's competency to stand trial and their responsibility at the time of the offense. Additionally, she writes reports regarding her evaluation findings and provides expert witness testimony.

Dr. Correa is a co-author of the Clinical Assessment of Malingering and Deception. She authored Chapter 4: Beyond Borders - Cultural and Transnational Perspectives of Feigning and Other Response Styles.

She has also taught many graduate classes in the field of forensic psychology and worked in therapy services across the country.

Dr. Correa is a wonderful mentor and an amazing role model. She is dedicated to her career and enjoys helping passionate students like myself immerse in the world of forensic psychology. Her work allows me to understand what this field means to me: the advocacy of justice and mental health awareness.
