Last week I began my preparation and planning for my final product, which will be focused on psychological testing and competency to stand trial. In addition, I will also include what I learned and obtained while completing my original work regarding the insanity defense and malingering. I think that I have the insanity defense covered, but malingering outside of insanity is something I have not explored much at this point. The plan set out by Dr. Correa and I is to explore the basics and foundation of the few topics I have particular interest in, figure out what I want to pursue further, then base my work around that. I do not want to propose anything too definite, because I do not want to limit myself. The field of clinical/forensic psychology is so research based, so it becomes difficult to create my own work, especially at my lack of experience and education.
This week, I need to focus on my research and original work speech which I will present during my ISM class period. My last speech had some issues that could be minimized by more practice this time around. In addition to this, I will work towards making a clearer plan for the remaining semester.
