As the second marking period comes to an end, I am encouraging myself to reflect on my last few weeks. At this point in my ISM process, I have completed all of my required interviews but plan to continue seeking out individuals for further learning. I have had great experiences with all of the professionals I have interviewed, both in person and over the phone. Last week, I drove down to the Henry Wade Juvenile Center and interviewed the chief psychologist and got to see inside what it’s like to work in such a diverse setting.
I am coming closer to pinpointing my platform for my original work, but I do find myself somewhat stumped. In addition to presenting eloquently, I need to format everything carefully, since it is a sensitive topic. The professionals I have been in contact with have provided me with lots of help that has influenced my thoughts on what it is that I want to study deep into. I have been getting insights from child custody, adolescent counseling, court testimony, and versatile assessment. I am relieved to have completed that step of my process and I am ready to shift my focus on applying the research I have done to create something of my own.
