Last week I made a great amount of connections via LinkedIn and received a great amount of replies from respected professionals all around the field. I messaged a special agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigations who offered to connect me with some local colleagues of his. I also connected with a few attorneys, counselors, and psychotherapists. I made a connection with a forensic evaluator who introduced positive forensic profiling into his work which I thought was an insightful application of behavior analysis.
I have been getting more into mental illness research which will help me for my original work over sexual harassment. Last week, I studied the nature of pedophilic disorders and related mental disorders that are not commonly talked about in the public conversation of mental health.
This upcoming week I have an interview in Dallas, as well as a phone interview. After this Wednesday, I will be done with the required interviews for the class. However, I plan to continue my search for opportunities with as many professionals as possible. I want to be sure that I make the best choice regarding my mentor. I know that my success is primarily determined by how much opportunity I allow myself to have through proactive choices and risk taking.
