Foundations of FMHA

Over the weekend, I started annotating the reference guide book that I got the weekend before. The book is on the foundations of forensic mental health assessment, which is what my final product is focused on entirely. The principles that the book outlines relate to psychological testing, the ethical guidelines of forensic psychology, and the appropriate manner in which to testify. I was familiar with all of these areas, but only to an extent. This guide book provides me with an extremely helpful set of instructions and recommendations that will come in handy for my own vignettes. I will not be using the areas regarding testimony, since I will not be testifying, but I am still learning what I can from it.

Today, I will visit Dr. Correa before she attends an annual forensic psychology conference later this week. Last week, we planned to focus this meeting on specific cases and case studies that she has to share. I am grateful to have this opportunity, because even though it will not be as structured as some of our meetings, it will allow me to get lots of inspiration for my vignettes. I also plan to ask her about some of the components that I read about in the guide book previously mentioned.
