Forensic assessments

Previously in ISM last week, I studied the basics and foundational guidelines of conducting and writing up a forensic assessment. I figured that since my final product will essentially involve me writing forensic reports for case studies, I would like to grasp a clear understanding of each component of evaluation. This evening, I will be visiting my mentor to review some of the psychological tests used for competency to stand trial, which is one of the most common tasks of a forensic psychologist in the correctional setting. I expect to obtain a better understanding of how the forensic assessment instruments are set up in order to meet the Dusky standard for adjunctive competency.
Next week, I hope to review with Dr. Correa parts of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition, which will be helpful for my final product. As for the progress and game plan for my product, I will be focused on collecting data from real case studies, TV and film characters, and perhaps public figures which will assist in my creation of my own forensic assessments.
I will also be assessing and reflecting on my original work speech which I presented a week ago.
